The verb- verb are those words which express any work.OR A verb is a word that denotes some position or action.
Kinds of verb:- there are many types of verb.
- Transitive verb
- Intransitive verb.
- Main or Principal verb.
- Auxiliary or Helping verb.
- weak or Regular Verb.
- Strong or Irregular verb.
- Finite verb.
- Non-finite verb.
1.Transitive verb - verb which meaning does not limited till subject and it effects some another person or object is called transitive verb.
Ex. Paras killed a hen.
she pushed him.
In the given sentences verb 'killed' is not limited till the subject, It is also affecting snake. hence verb 'killed' is transitive verb.
2. In transitive verb - A verb which work is completed on the subject and object is not used, is called Intransitive verb.
Ex. He went into the building.
sheela was crying.
3. Main or Principal Verb- A verb that express it's full meaning and It is main verb of the sentence, is called Main or Principal.
Ex. I want to join Indian Army.
seeing a dog, he began to run.
4. Auxiliary Verb or Helping Verb- Those verbs which are help to complete meaning of main verb and used after the main verb is called Auxiliary or helping verb.
There are two kinds of it-
(a) Firs type of helping verb
(b) second type of helping verb
(a) first type of helping verb:- Verb that works as helping and main verb is called first type of helping verb. Ex. am, is, are, were, was, shall be, will be, have, has, had, do, does, did, dare, need.
(b) Second type of helping verb- Verb that are only work as helping verb are called second type of helping verb.
Ex. Shall, Will, Would, Should, Can, Could, May, Must, Ought.
5. Weak or regular verb-A verb which second and third form are formed after adding 'd' or 'ed' are called Weak or regular verb.
Ex. Complete completed completed
pull pulled pulled
6. Strong or Irregular verb- A verb which second and third form are fully or partially changed is called Strong or Irregular verb.
Ex. Go went gone
write wrote written
7. Finite verb:- Those verbs which are limited according to its subject means which are changed due to number, voice, tense are called Finite verb.
Ex. She has gone .
He is learning English.
8. Non- Finite Verb- Those verbs which are not limited according to its subject means which are not affected by number and person and which are in the same form always is called Non-Finite verb.
There are three kinds of it -
a. Infinite
b. Gerund
c. Participle
a. Infinite- When 'to' is used before first form of verb, is called Infinite verb.
Ex. He has come to eat the food.
To play in the ground is her hobby.
b. Gerund - When 'ing' is used with the first form of verb is called gerund.
Ex. Stop playing.
she likes drawing.
c. Participle - There are two kinds of it.
(1) Present participle- when 'ing' is used with the first form of verb and often verb is used in starting of the sentence.
Ex. Going on the road, I found a ring.
Hearing the noise, she woke up
(2) Past participle- when second form of verb shows its meaning हुआ, हुए या कर it is called past participle.
Ex. A burnt man admitted in the hospital
He has worn torn clothes.
