In the 21st century. social networking has revolutionized the world. there are about 4.50 billion  social media users  around the world.  billions of people around the world keep in touch with known, unknown and friends we usually share our experience and exchange our personal (related to job, family, relatives etc.) information . it is one of the cause of  to increment of  frauds. we see many reports about banking fraud, hacking, scammed and harassment  related problem. we must aware about these type of problem. 

        scammers gather personal information from social media feeds and networking sites for cheating. they impersonate their victim through identity theft.  social media platform is goldmine for scammers. people share their whole information in social media. even many people share their daily routine, their choices, like and dislike. 

scammers usually steal such type of information -

• full name 
• date of birth
• residence location
• relationship status
• school and college related information.
• working information
• pet name
• hobbies and interests 
• about friends   

while using social media facilities and sharing our information, we must aware about fraud. not only financial fraud, it could be cause emotional and respect. 

   here I am going to share some tips to safe form social media fraud. 

1. must think before you post, what you post 'online' is permanent. 
2. disclosing personal information on social media account and sites. It is easier to someone and hacker to misuse it. 
3. on social media platform personal security begins with safeguarding you computer and mobile system itself. It  must install antivirus software, maintain the updated and recent version of operating system,  and other software application.
4. be aware about accepting or sending friend request - if you don't know the person, refuse the request, it someone harrasing or threatening you, unfriend and block the person, and file a polis report against the person. 
5. make sure that you password is strong. it should consists of combination of letter's(capital and small) numbers, and special character. use deferent type of password for each and every social media accounts. 
6. Don't use same mobile number and Email ID for both social media account and transaction account.
